Obituary for Patsy R. Asher

Patsy R.  Asher
Mrs. Patsy Ruth Asher, age 80 years, of Jefferson City, Mo., passed away peacefully Saturday, August 19, 2017 at home surrounded by her family.

Pat was born July 5, 1937 in Linn, Mo. the daughter of John E. and Sophia (Matthews) Huot. She was married on July 3, 1975 in Las Vegas, Nevada to Harold C. Asher who preceded her in death on December 20, 2010.

A lifelong resident of the central Missouri area, Pat was a 1955 graduate of Linn High School in Linn, Mo.

She was employed with Home Savings and Loan and later with St. Mary’s Hospital for several years. Pat stayed in the healthcare industry the rest of her professional career being employed by Professional Health Consultants, Group One Health Source and GO Partners as a medical credentialing specialist. She had a strong work ethic her entire life and continued to work until her passing.

Pat always loved to be around her family, especially time spent with them at the Lake of the Ozarks. She adored her grandchildren and taught them how to play games at an early age. She was very creative and channeled that creativity into her favorite hobbies: sewing, gardening, tending to her flowers, painting and playing the piano. She always stayed firm in her beliefs and possessed strong values.

Survivors include: four daughters, Debbie Asher Mullally of Jefferson City, Mo., Denise Wissmann of Pensacola, Florida, Renee Asher Hendrickson of Jefferson City, Mo, and Amy Asher Wilson (husband Michael) of Jefferson City, Mo.; one sister, Imogene Thompson of Linn, Mo.; one daughter-in-law, Linda Asher of Holts Summit, Mo.; two sisters-in-law, Laura Mae Huot of Jefferson City, Mo. and Oma Huot of Linn, Mo.; twelve grandchildren, Ashley Vincent, Erin Schrimpf (husband Blake), Megan Asher, Madeline Wilson, Connor Hendrickson, Caroline Wilson, Trevor Smith, Mallory Pummill, Benjamin Pummill, Lindsay Marzan (husband Freddy), Jarrod Hendrickson, and Megan Hendrickson; and three great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harold; one son, Steven G. Asher; two sisters, Opal Mathews and her husband Harold and Juanita Helming and her husband Buck; three brothers, Howard Huot, Robert Huot, and Thomas Huot and his wife Luta Rae; an infant sister, Thelma Louise Huot; one brother-in-law, Alfred Thompson; and one grandson, Jeremy Holland.

Visitation will be at Freeman Mortuary from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 23, 2017.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 24, 2017 in the Freeman Chapel. Graveside services and interment will be held at Hawthorn Memorial Gardens.
