Obituary for Alice McBaine

Mary Alice McBaine, 61, of Jefferson City, passed away Friday, March 18, 2022 at her home.

She was born on January 11, 1961 in Jefferson City, to Alfred William Kirkweg and Mary Kathryn Rannabargar. She was married on June 18, 1999 in Jefferson City to Mark Alan McBaine.

Alice graduated from Jefferson City High School. Alice was employed with the Children's Division of the Department of Social Services, retiring after 36 years.

Being an avid outdoorswoman, Alice could often be found outside soaking up the sun. She loved crappie fishing and was extremely good at it. For many years, Alice and Mark would often hook up the camper and just go where the road took them. They traveled together all over the United States and had the opportunity to take her parents with them. As time went on Alice and Mark found their special place, which was Harry S. Truman State Park, where they would park the camper and take their pontoon boat out on the lake and enjoy the summer days together. She also enjoyed the challenge of putting puzzles together and proudly frame and display them. Alice had such a vibrant and positive personality that when she smiled it made others smile as well. Alice was loved and cherished by many people and will be missed by everyone that knew her.

Alice is survived by: her loving husband of 23 years, Mark; parents, Alfred and Mary Kirkweg of Jefferson City; children, Bradley Cassmeyer of Chicago, Il. and Nicole McBaine (Cyron Tingzon) of San Diego, Ca.; step-son, Dean McBaine of Jefferson City; grandchildren, Ethan, Bennington, Sawyer, Paxton, and Cyon; and numerous other family members who love her dearly.

A private celebration of life will be held for Alice at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Alice McBaine Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 95, Jefferson City, Mo. 65102.

Funeral arrangements are under the care of Freeman Mortuary.
