Amy Beth Niedergerke, age 56, of New Bloomfield, Mo., passed away on November 7, 2018 at her home, surrounded by family.

She was born on March 16, 1962, in St. Louis, Mo. the daughter of David and Dorothy “Dot” (Barklage) Plotky. She was married on November 8, 1987 in Guthrie, Mo. to Carey Lee Niedergerke.

A lifelong resident of the Central Missouri area, Amy graduated from Hazelwood West and went on to receive a Bachelor of Science degree, in Computer Science, from William Woods University.

Amy worked for the State of Missouri in the Missouri Senate. She led a team in Computer Information Systems handling a range of projects from software development to website design. Amy retired as a Computer Programmer III in March of 2018 after over 30 years of dedicated service.

Amy’s world revolved around her husband and son. Some of her favorite memories were spent traveling with them, most recently to watch her favorite baseball team, the St. Louis Cardinals, during their spring training in Jupiter, Fl. She also treasured the two trips she and Sam took to Aberdeen, Maryland where Sam attended the Cal Ripken baseball camp as well as the pit stop at Cedar Point to ride rollercoasters.

Amy spent the majority of her time at the baseball field, watching Sam and his team play ball. While she was appreciated for being the team photographer, she was most known for heckling the umpires from behind home plate. Amy was also a creative soul; she created beautiful works of art as a writer and painter. One of her pieces hangs proudly in her mother’s home. She also had a heart for animals, caring for and loving her two Great Danes as well as adopting and nurturing four horses.

Survivors include: her loving husband of 31 years, Carey Niedergerke of New Bloomfield; her son, Samuel Niedergerke of New Bloomfield; her mother, Dot Plotky of St. Louis; one brother, Jon Plotky of Atlanta, Ga.; two nieces, Calina Plotky of Atlanta, Ga., and Alicia Plotky of Denver, Co.; and her beloved Great Danes, Harley and Jamie; and numerous cousins.

Amy was preceded in death by her father, David Plotky, who passed away in August of this year; and her grandparents, Eva & Henry Barklage.

Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Saturday, November 10, 2018.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Sunday, November 11, 2018 in the Freeman Chapel with Celebrant Gara Loskill officiating. Graveside services and interment will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday at Bethel Church Cemetery in Wildwood, Mo.
