Mrs. Arden May Grice, age 93, of Jefferson City, Mo., went to be home with her Lord on Tuesday, February 22, 2022 surrounded by her loving family.
Arden was born on February 18, 1929 in Cape Girardeau, Mo., the daughter of Arthur and May Lincoln Abington.
A lifelong resident of the Central Missouri area, Arden was a graduate of Jefferson City High School and Jefferson City Junior College.
It was during her time in high school that she met the love of her life, Lloyd L. Grice. She married her high-school sweetheart on September 29, 1952 in the home of Rev. Heaton in Jefferson City. Lloyd preceded her in death on December 15, 2011.
As a homemaker the majority of her life, Arden cherished time she spent with family. Her passion in life was to spread love, which is something she instilled in her children and grandchildren. Arden treasured supporting her two daughters and was extremely proud of her grandchildren. Due to her long-term illness, she lived with her daughter and son-in-law, Kris and Ian, the last years of her life and they were able to treat her with the love she spread when healthy.
Arden was a woman of strong faith and a member of First Assembly of God. She read her Bible daily and was a great witness to her faith. Arden had a strong prayer life and constantly prayed for friends and family.
Arden was an avid reader of Christian literature and she loved animals. She enjoyed making gifts for others and crocheted many great keepsakes for her friends and family that they will forever cherish. Arden will be remembered for her servant’s heart and strong faith that she shared with everyone.
Survivors include: two daughters, Kimberly Lloyd Vogel and Kris Arden Simms (husband, Ian), both of Jefferson City, Mo.; three grandchildren, Jacob Vogel (wife, Maria) of Jefferson City, Mo., Kristen Vogel of Seattle, Wa., and Erica Arden Overfelt of Columbia, Mo.; and one great-granddaughter, Bella Rose Vogel.
