Barry Jackson Malone, age 54, of Jefferson City, Mo., passed away on Thursday, September 5, 2019 at University Hospital, Columbia, Mo. surrounded by family.

He was born on August 28, 1965 in Tuscumbia, Mo. the son of Daniel Patrick “Pat” and Vergena Lee “Jenny” (Ambrose) Malone.
A lifelong resident of the central Missouri area, Barry was a 1983 graduate of Jefferson City High School. He received a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from Lincoln University.
Barry served in the United States Army with the First Infantry Division and was honorably discharged in 1996.
He was employed for many years with the State of Missouri and other businesses in the central Missouri area before retiring in 2006 due to health problems.
Barry was an avid reader and also enjoyed watching movies. He was knowledgeable and passionate about technology and loved a good video game with friends. Barry was very fond of any animals, especially his spoiled dogs and cats.
Survivors include: his mother, Jenny Malone-Dake; three brothers, Kelly Malone and his wife Debbie of Jefferson City, Mo., Danny Malone and his wife Nellie of Bolivar, Mo., and Bruce Malone and his wife Joann of Keller, Texas; one sister, Brenda Burgess and her husband Bob of Dixon, Mo.; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Pat Malone; maternal grandparents, Girland and Mary J. Ambrose; and paternal grandparents, Michael and Irene Malone.
Private family services will be held at a later date.
