Betty was a 1949 graduate of Eldon High School. Throughout her life, Betty called many other places “home” including O’Fallon, Mo., Ocala, Fl., Jefferson City, Mo., and Saint Charles, Mo.
Betty spent 15 years at Fort Zumwalt School District where she served in the cafeteria and also as a teacher’s aide. After moving to Florida she was a regional manager at Frayne’s Dresses while living there. After moving back to Missouri, she went on to work as a secretary for Miracle Ear until her retirement.
A devout woman of faith, Betty was a member of many Christian churches where she was living during her life. Some of her fondest memories include the time she spent participating in various church activities and events. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
Betty enjoyed knitting afghans and was known to gift them to new babies and those she loved. She cherished any time that she spent with her family, and looked forward to their many family gatherings. Together, they spent a lot of time camping at Alley Springs Park and trout fishing Bennett Springs or the Ozark National Scenic Riverway. While living in Florida, she loved the cruises she was able to go on with friends. She was an avid Cardinal’s fan and had a knack for team statistics – even remembering player’s wives names! Betty will be remembered for always being attentive and for her caring and sweet heart.
