Obituary for Bobby Green

Robert “Bobby” James Green, age 58, of Jefferson City, Missouri, passed away on Friday, May 22, 2020 at St. Mary’s Hospital, surrounded by his family.

Bobby was born on September 29, 1961 in Belleville, Illinois, the son of Ella Mae (Montgomery) Bailey and the late Robert Lee Green. He grew up in Illinois and attended Belleville schools. After moving to Jefferson City, Bobby was employed with Capitol Projects.

Bobby enjoyed spending time at the Lake – fishing, boating and relaxing. He was a music fan; listening to soft rock, country and gospel music. Bobby also spent many nights watching Cardinal baseball. Bobby Blue will be remembered as a family man. He always made it a priority to keep up with everyone, regardless of where they lived. He visited often and made weekly phone calls to his sister, Christy, with whom he had a special bond. His fondest memories were of time spent with them and their barbeques.

Survivors include his mother, Ella Mae Bailey of Jefferson City, Mo.; his siblings, Donna Hovis (Mike) of Freeport, Florida, Judy Ridgeway (Doug) of Jefferson City, Mo.; Christine Green Isenhart of Belleville, Illinois, Carla Meisel (Brian) of Jefferson City, Mo., Judy Keith (Bill) of Coulterville, Illinois, and Shawn Green (Jennifer) of Festus, Mo.; and several nieces and nephews.

Bobby was preceded in death by his father, Robert L. Green; his step-father, Robert G. Bailey; brother, Bobby G. Bailey; and brother-in-law, Al Isenhart.

He will be laid to rest next to his father at Lakeview Memorial Gardens in Fairview Heights, IL following a private family service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society or in the spirit of Bobby, please perform a random act of kindness or pay it forward in his memory.
