Obituary for Bonnie J. Palmer

Bonnie Jane Palmer, age 59 years, of Jefferson City, Mo., passed away Saturday, January 15, 2022, at her home with her husband by her side.

She was born on July 27, 1962 in Torrance, California, the daughter of James Henry and Ingrid (Munchitrick) Tinker. She was married on December 19, 1982 in Las Vegas, Nevada to Mark E. Palmer who survives of the home.

Bonnie grew up in California and graduated from David Jordan Starr High School in Long Beach, where she proudly participated in the Army ROTC program.

Bonnie was a homemaker for the majority of life. She was proud to support her husband in the military and his career as they moved from California, to Neveda, and eventually Missouri. Bonnie had a wonderful and outgoing personality that led her to be a motherly figure to many. She will be remembered for her caring and giving nature but also being a bit set in her ways.

She loved keeping up with all of her friends and family on Facebook. Bonnie knew all of her neighbors and looked forward to visiting with each of them. Bonnie enjoyed singing karaoke and watching a good Hallmark movie. She loved to travel; with Lake Tahoe being one of her favorite spots. One of her best friends was her sweet dog, Ching-Ching, who she was known to dress up in different outfits each day.

Survivors include: her husband of 39 years, Mark Palmer; one son, Joshua W. Palmer (wife Kimberly) of Cuba, Mo.; one daughter, Jennifer N. Railey (husband Randall) of Belle, Mo.; her step-father, Michael O’Connell of Morro-Bay, Ca.; four brothers, James Tinker of Morro-Bay, Ca., Jerry Tinker of Riverside, Ca., Jeffery Tinker of Medford, Or. and Daniel Tinker of Reno, Nv.; and 12 grandchildren, Carlos Castillo, Leah Railey, Skylee Railey, Hannah Railey, Anthony Augustine, Alex Palmer, Christopher Palmer, Conner Palmer, Abigail Palmer, Jordan Backes, Jacklyn Backes and Logan Backes.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one son, Mark A. Palmer.

Private graveside services will be held at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society.

Funeral arrangements are under the care of Freeman Mortuary.
