Obituary for Christopher Wheeler

Christopher Briant Wheeler, 30, of California, Mo., went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, May 17, 2022, at the Jefferson City Nursing and Rehabilitation Center with loving family by his side.

Christopher was born on August 22, 1991 in Jefferson City, a son of Kim Douglas Wheeler and Lisa Dawn Gibler. Christopher accepted Jesus Christ into his heart and was baptized on January 14, 2001 at Pilot Grove Baptist Church in Latham, Mo.

Christopher was an ornery and stubborn yet loving and affectionate man with a very unique sense of humor. He was creative and artistic with a talent for drawing and even created and tattooed much of his own body art. He had a giving heart and would truly do anything for anyone. An intelligent man, Christopher had a distinctive way of looking at the world. When he was young, he enjoyed family vacations and was content to ride along on road trips or spend a day at the water park. He was fiercely independent and enjoyed his time to himself but he loved his family and always held them in high regard.

Survivors include: Christopher’s mother and step father, Lisa and Jeff Williams of California, Mo.; his step mother, Pamela F. Wheeler of Jefferson City, Mo.; sister, Amy Wheeler of California, Mo.; brother, Matthew Wheeler of Linn, Mo.; step brother, David Williams (Brianna) of California, Mo.; nephew, Ryan Wheeler; niece, Maddyson Wheeler; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his dad, Kim Wheeler and his grandparents, Gene and Vivia Lee Wheeler and Richard and Jean Gibler.

Christopher’s family will be holding a private service to celebrate his life at Freeman Mortuary.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Missouri Baptist Children’s Home 11300 Saint Charles Rock Road, Bridgeton, MO 63044.

Funeral arrangements are under the care of Freeman Mortuary.
