Dale Allan Jones, 48, of Springfield, Missouri, left this world and was born into eternity on Wednesday, September 7, 2022.
He was born in Honolulu, Hawaii on August 8, 1974 a son of David L. and Katherine (Anderson) Jones. Being part of a military family, he would travel and have many adventures with his parents, brother, and sister. Their homes after Hawaii included Kansas, Arizona, Panama and then they settled in Missouri.
Dale was a 1993 graduate of Waynesville High School. He loved animals and was proud of his work with rescue dogs at the PAWS organization after graduation. His love for people led him to serve as a Certified Nurses Aid in Lebanon where he relished helping others, and his selflessness remained in him throughout the remainder of his life. Known by his nickname “Bigs,” he was a resident of The Lodges in Springfield, Missouri where his many friends turned into his family.
Dale was quiet and quite observant. His kindness and easy-going disposition created a safe space where others could feel comfortable around him. His goal was to make people laugh, and he had a special voice called “Kitty” he used when someone needed to smile. He was very artistic, often with a pen and paper nearby to doodle or create. He and his mom were huge fans of Bob Ross and spent much time painting in that style. He loved music and often sought solace listening to his tunes.
Meeting him in glory with Jesus is his mother, Katherine Louise Jones and his niece Grace Katherine Ward. Loving him still on earth are his father, 1SGT David L. Jones (USARMY, ret.) of Roby, MO; big brother, MSGT David L. Jones, Jr. (USAF, ret.) and wife Stephanie of Papillion, NE; little sister, Alena K. Ward and husband Michael of Jefferson City, MO; nieces and nephews, Abigail K. Ward, Kristine M. Jones, David "DJ" Jones III, and James L. Jones; and countless friends-turned-family from all over.
A private family graveside gathering lead by his niece, Abigail Ward, and interment will be held at Riverview Cemetery in Jefferson City.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the American Lung Association.
Funeral arrangements are under the care of Freeman Mortuary.
