Obituary for Daniel Heinrich

Daniel “Danny” Lee Heinrich, age 71, of Jefferson City, Mo., passed away Tuesday, March 14, 2023, at University Hospital in Columbia, Mo.

He was born on December 29, 1951, in Arlington, Kansas., the son of Charles Harold “Jack” and Ruth (Bridges) Heinrich. He was married on December 2, 1972, in Russellville, Missouri, to Debra Mae “Debbie” Jones. She survives at the home.

After attending Jefferson City High School, Danny worked as a mechanic at Sandy’s Standard, where he met Debbie. He went on to work with Orscheln, Menu Maker Foods, and later retired from N.H. Scheppers, a Budweiser distributor. He was a route driver and warehouse manager there for over 20 years.

Danny was one-of-a-kind, especially when it came to his sense of humor. He enjoyed giving friends a “hard time”. Whether it was expertly hiding Easter eggs in impossible places, playing games (Aggravation, shooting hoops), or just being a favorite fun uncle and brother-in-law, there was never a dull moment.

Years ago, Danny’s granddad had a farm in Reform, Missouri, where he hunted, fished and picnicked. He held many memories of nights spent at the farm with his brothers.

He also had a need for speed. He and his brother, Larry, kept up with drag races on TV, and he and his brothers attended some drag races in Topeka, Kansas.

He was a devoted St. Louis Cardinals baseball and Kansas City Chiefs football fan and enjoyed going to the 1985 I-70 World Series.

Danny had a mechanical mind and could figure out how to fix just about anything. He came to the rescue, helping many family members with auto repairs.

Above all, Danny loved spending time with his family. Trips to the farm, competitive Domino and card games, and the much-anticipated annual 4th of July celebration at Uncle Danny and Aunt Debbie’s house were just a few of the many favorite memories of his family. Danny was ornery, fun, and loving, and he will be missed by all who knew him.

Danny is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Debbie Heinrich; brothers, Donald “Donnie” Heinrich (Peggy Jones Heinrich), and Marvin Heinrich both of Jefferson City; his mother-in-law, Amy Jones; siblings-in-law, Pam Schroeder (Chris), Kenneth Jones, Diane Stone (Roy), Dennis Jones, Doug Jones (Char), Debbie Heinrich (Bill Heinrich’s widow), and Barbara Heinrich; and many beloved nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Ruth Heinrich; siblings, Larry Jones (Janice), Bill Heinrich, and Eddie Heinrich; father-in-law, Donald Jones; and brother-in-law, Darrell Jones.
