A longtime resident of the Jefferson City area, David graduated from Jefferson City High School in May of 1959. After graduation, he enlisted and served six years in the United States Marine Corp stationed in Hawaii and California for the majority of his service.
While living in California, David worked for the Ventura City and County libraries for six years. After returning to Jefferson City, he was employed with the Jefferson City Housing Authority for 27 years until ill health forced his retirement.
David was a member of the American Legion, Roscoe Enloe Post 5 and the Samuel F. Gearhart Detachment of the Marine Corp League.
Some of David’s favorite times were barbequing for family over holidays, day trips throughout Missouri with Addy, and being known as the Canasta champion. He found peace being outdoors in nature and cherished time camping, hunting, or fishing with his son, Mike. He developed his love of nature as a boy scout himself, and then enjoyed time as an assistant scout leader when Mike was younger with Troop 105.
