Obituary for Dawn Renee Krigbaum

Dawn Renee Krigbaum, age 47 years, of Elizabethtown, Kentucky, passed away Monday, November 19, 2018 at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown, Kentucky.

Dawn was born March 14, 1971 in Marshall, Mo. the daughter of Kenneth E. and Sandra J. Janes Larsen. She was married on February 2, 2002 in Holts Summit, Mo. to John F. Krigbaum.

She graduated from Slater High School in Slater, Mo. in 1989 then went on to attend El Paso Community College in El Paso, Texas

A homemaker, she was also employed as a Medical Laboratory Technician at the Cushing Hospital in Leavenworth, Kansas.

Dawn had a creative spirit and a giving heart. She was a gifted in making crafts and was an excellent cook. Dawn was always there to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it and in her free time she loved getting lost in the mystery and suspense of a Stephen King or Dean Koontz novel. Most of all Dawn loved spending time with her family; her children were the light of her life. She had a passion for life and always enjoyed every moment.

Dawn took every opportunity to try new things and experience the world. Some of her many adventures include weekend float trips with friends, walking on River Street in Savannah, Georgia, cross country road trips with her best friend, riding four wheelers in the red dunes of El Paso, Texas, seeing exhibits in Kansas City, and a helicopter ride over New York City.

Survivors include: her husband of sixteen years, John Krigbaum; two children, Jakob Krigbaum and Mattilynn Krigbaum, both of the home; her parents, Kenneth Larsen of Eldon, Mo. and Sandra Larsen of Marshall, Mo.; her mother-in-law, Barbara Mikel of Holts Summit, Mo.; four brothers and sisters, Kelly Pollard (Jeff Peel) of Gilliam, Mo., Sharon Larsen (Jerry Francis) of Versailles, Mo., Margaret Johnson (Glenn Stafford) of Marshall, Mo., and Sean Larsen (Amanda Chapman) of Madison, Mo.; two sisters-in-law, Terri Zumalt (Keith Zumalt) of Hartsburg, Mo. and Deborah Verslues (Curtis Verslues) of Holts Summit, Mo.

She was preceded in death by one niece, Haley Dawn Larsen, her father-in-law, Jay Mikel, her grandparents and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Visitation will be at Freeman Mortuary from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 29, 2018.

Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 Noon on Friday, November 30, 2018 in the Freeman Chapel with the Reverend Charles “Dusty” Klein officiating. Interment will be at Hawthorn Memorial Gardens.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Freeman Mortuary.
