Obituary for Dick Wieberg

Richard “Dick” Wieberg, age 69 years, of Jefferson City, Mo., a former resident of Atlanta, Ga., passed away Sunday, September 8, 2019 at Villa Marie Stone Bridge Senior Living Community.

He was born November 11, 1949, the son of Leonard and Rosemary (Peitzmeyer) Wieberg.

Dick served in the United States Army from 1972 until 1982. He was honorably discharged at the rank of Captain. He went on to work for the Federal Reserve Bank in New Orleans, La. until his retirement in 2005.

Dick enjoyed golf, New Orleans cuisine, traveling, cooking, watching NASCAR races on Sundays, and eating at Perkin’s, Oscar’s and Country Kitchen when he could.

Survivors include: his daughter, Brandi Cannizzaro (husband Pete) of Cumming, Ga.; his son, Shane Wieberg (wife Maria) of Lawrenceville, Ga.; four grandchildren, Caroline Cannizzaro, Colby Cannizzaro, William Wieberg and Sophia Wieberg; his mother, Rosemary Wieberg of Westphalia, Mo; two brothers Dave Wieberg (wife Mary) and Dale Wieberg (wife Janice), both of Westphalia, Mo.; and two sisters, Sharon Odom of Jefferson City, Mo. and Mary Mealer (husband Jim) of Vienna, Mo.

He was preceded in death by his father, Leonard Wieberg.

A memorial service with military honors will be held in Georgia and will be announced at a later time.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Freeman Mortuary.
