Obituary for Don Eisinger

Donald C. Eisinger Sr., age 91, of Jefferson City, Mo. passed away peacefully Wednesday, July 20, 2022 at Heisinger Bluffs.

Don was born April 9, 1931, to Paul L. and Laura (Bowler) Eisinger in Baltimore, MD. He was married to Kathleen Brady Reilly on September 16, 1949 in Ellicott, MD.

Don attended Baltimore Polytechnic High School. He was a diemaker for Lord Baltimore Press and subsequently an executive with International Paper (Clinton, IA, Philadelphia, PA and New York City, NY), Field Container (Chicago, IL), Custom-Pak (Clinton, IA) and Fold Pack (Newark, NY).

Prior to his retirement to Leesburg, Fl., he was active in the YMCA, Junior Achievement and United Way. He was well versed in the manufacturing of folding cartons and boxes and held corporate patents thru International Paper. To family he was a master woodworker producing items cherished by family.

He is survived by: his loving wife of 72 years, Kathleen “Kas” Eisinger; two sons, Don (Linda) Eisinger of Jefferson City, MO and the Reverend Alan (Teryl) Eisinger of Sterling Heights, MI; grandchildren, Dr. Laura Naught (Bill) of Jefferson City, MO, Alison Byers (Josh) of Elko, NV, Jacob Eisinger (Alyssa) of Elko, NV and Jana Caputo-Hill of Royal Oak, MI; six great grandchildren, Noah Byers, Alexis Byers, Riley Byers, Mathew Eisinger, Zoe Eisinger and Livee Eisinger of Elko, Nevada, and Anderson Naught of Jefferson City, MO.

A private Celebration of Don’s Life will be held at Heisinger Bluffs Chapel at a later date. Private graveside services will be held in Clinton, IA.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Heisinger Bluffs ERA Fund or the Heisinger Bluffs Chaplain Fund.

Funeral arrangements are under the care of Freeman Mortuary.
