Obituary for Don Renn
Donald Robert “Don” Renn, age 83, passed away, Tuesday, December 20, 2022 at his home.
He was born on October 15, 1939 in Jefferson City, Mo., the son of Frances Charles and Goldie Bernice (Harrison) Renn. He was married on December 19, 1959 in Jefferson City, Mo. to Joyce D. Petree. She preceded him in death on November 8, 2015.
A lifelong resident of the Central Missouri area, Don was a graduate of Jefferson City High School. He enlisted in the United States Army in 1951 and was honorably discharged from duty in 1954.
He went on to work for the State of Missouri Division of the Blind for 25 years. After retiring from the state, Don worked with various organizations keeping accounting records and working as a salesman.
Don was an outdoorsman; he enjoyed the solitude of nature whether he was hunting fishing or just sitting outside visiting with friends and family. Vacations provided the family with lifelong memories and they loved traveling to scenic states like Arizona, Colorado and New Mexico to visit loved ones. Don was a man of strong faith and he was a member of First Assembly of God in Jefferson City.
Survivors include: two sons, Donald “Butch” Renn and Paul Renn (wife, Cindy) of Jefferson City; three siblings, Jackie Kirkweg (husband, Cleet) of Eugene, Mary Jane Reinschmidt of Eldon, and Charles “Chuck” Renn (wife, Mary) of Jefferson City; and ten grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife, Joyce; and his daughter, Bobbie Scott.
A funeral service will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Next Thursday, January 5, 2023 at First Assembly of God, Jefferson City with the Reverend Lowell Perkins officiating. Interment will be held at Hawthorn Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to First Assembly of God in Jefferson City.
