Obituary for Donald Henry "Don" Barok
Mr. Donald Henry “Don” Barok, age 83, of Jefferson City, Mo., passed away on Sunday, January 23, 2022 at his home.
Don was born on November 29, 1938 in Wagoner, Ok. the son of Henry and Olive Mae Barok. He was married on July 1, 1966 in Oklahoma to Linda Diane Howard who preceded him in death on May 3, 1984. He found love once more and on September 25, 1984, he married Carol Lee Hill who preceded him in death on November 16, 1996.
Don bravely served our country in the United States Army where he earned the ranking of SP4 and worked as a Med Specialist.
Don was a hard worker and held various jobs throughout his life. He worked as a supervisor and trainer, he built billboards, and enjoyed tinkering with diesel vehicles.
Don was a proud member of the Missouri Sheriff’s Association.
Don enjoyed being outdoors and could often be found with a line in the water, going camping, and playing pool. He liked playing cards, especially poker and solitaire. Don enjoyed traveling by car to visit family or friends and loved to crank up ZZ Top and soak in the beautiful scenery. Most of all, Don cherished the time and memories he made with his family.
Survivors include: six children, Robert Barok (wife, Kathy), Michael Barok, Dina Barok, Mitch Barok, Andrea Barok, and Debra Barok; four siblings, Glinda Cooper, David Barok (Janie), Gary Barok, and Barbara Pittman; five grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Don was preceded in death by his wives; his parents; two sisters, Mary Munns and Shirley Matthewson; and two brothers-in-law, Billy Cooper, Sr., and John Pittman.
Private committal services and interment with military honors will be held at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville, Mo.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Cole County Sheriff’s Department, 350 E High St, Jefferson City, MO 65101.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Freeman Mortuary.
