Obituary for Doug Webster

Douglas Neal Webster, age 70, of Fulton, Missouri, passed away Friday, July 29, 2022 at his home.

Doug was born on January 12, 1952 in Blytheville, Arkansas, the son of the late Neal and Betty Lou (Pennington) Webster. He was married in Alma, Arkansas to Linda Dawn Ballard, who survives.

Doug began his professional career with Hutcheson Shoes, which became a subsidiary of Walmart Stores, Inc. He later worked as a regional Human Resource Director at Walmart’s home office in Bentonville, Arkansas. Retiring after 20 years from Walmart, he served as the Human Resource Director at The Callaway Bank for over 17 years. He valued the personal relationships he made through these organizations.

He possessed a strong faith and was a devoted Christian. He enjoyed many types of music, but had a special affinity for southern gospel quartet music and sang in a gospel quartet as a young man. Doug will be remembered for his joyful spirit and living out his faith through his humility, actions, and pride in his family.

Survivors include: his wife, Linda Webster; two sons, Douglas Olen Webster and his wife, Rachel, of Fulton, Missouri; and Christopher Charles Webster and his wife Amber of Kansas City, Missouri; and seven grandchildren, Cora, Miriam, Olen, and Leland; and Christopher, Amon, and Virginia.

Private graveside services and interment will be held at New Cemetery in Mulberry, Arkansas.

In lieu of flowers or memorial contributions, Doug’s family asks that you listen to a good ol’ gospel song and say a prayer to remember him.

Funeral arrangements are under the care of Freeman Mortuary.
