Obituary for Elizabeth A. Copp

Elizabeth Ann Copp, age 60, of Nokomis, FL, passed away Sunday, July 26, 2020 in Jefferson City, MO.

Beth was born on February 11, 1960 in Kansas City, MO. the daughter of Fred and Betty (Mitchell) Angle.

Growing up in the Kansas City area, Beth was a 1978 graduate of Raytown Senior High School. She then went on to achieve her bachelor’s degree in business administration from Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg, MO. In college, Beth served as president of the Sigma Sigma Sigma Sorority and was very active with The Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

After college, Beth worked with Bendix Corporation in Kansas City before transitioning into a management role with Seven-Up Bottling Company where she worked for several years. When Beth became a mother, she stepped away from her career to dedicate herself to her four children. She loved supporting them with their daily activities and was their biggest cheerleader. Beth always possessed a positive attitude and outlook on life, traits she worked hard to pass along to her children. Nothing brightened Beth’s smile more than seeing her grandchildren and making them laugh.

In her later years, Beth enjoyed starting her day outdoors with a walk or bike ride. She adapted perfectly to the Florida lifestyle where she could frequently enjoy her passions of kayaking, boating and taking walks on the beach. Always a social butterfly, Beth cherished attending a beach drum circle near her house and watching Kansas City Chiefs games with friends. Earlier this year, one of Beth’s wishes came true when she got to watch the Chiefs win the Super Bowl.

One of Beth’s biggest accomplishments in life was always investing her time in her relationships with family and friends. She truly loved people and cared about everyone she knew. She especially enjoyed time spent with her dear friend, Rob Dallmeyer III. Beth will be remembered for always telling people, “Life is short, let’s all be happy!” This was truly the way she lived her life.

Survivors include: four children, Whitney Balaun and husband Nick of Overland Park, KS, Justin Copp and wife Leigh of Arvada, CO, Cortney Copp of Overland Park, KS, and Krissie Copp of Leawood, KS; her grandchildren, Kaden Copp, Ryder Balaun, Finley Balaun, Amelia Copp, and baby Balaun due in November; her mother, Betty Vonck of Lee’s Summit, MO; her special friend, Rob Dallmeyer III in Jefferson City, MO; two brothers, Phil and Jim Angle, both of Lee’s Summit, MO.
