Mrs. Geraldine Elenore “Jerri” Oligschlaeger, 90, of Jefferson City, Mo., passed away Wednesday, June 5, 2019 at home with family by her side.
Jerri was born April 2, 1929 in Waterflow, New Mexico, a daughter of the late Lucius and Corilla (Stallings) Clements. She was married on September 29, 1955 in Albuquerque, New Mexico to Bernard “Olie” Oligschlaeger.
Jerri was raised in New Mexico and graduated from Sacred Heart Academy High School and cosmetology school. When she met Bernard, she became a military wife and lived across the United States and Germany. She became a dedicated housewife and mother to her children. Her love for children continued as she provided in home babysitting to others, as well as her own grandchildren. Jerri was the foundation that her children built their lives around. She instilled in them the importance of family values, patience, and unconditional love.
When she did have free time, Jerri loved hosting family gatherings, sewing, reading, spoiling her grandkids, and visiting friends, especially outings with best friend Fanny. She cherished trips back to the Southwest United States to visit her family.
Jerri was a faithful member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, and she sustained great comfort throughout her life from her faith.
Survivors include: her children, Mary Deeken (Jack), Mark Oligschlaeger (Linda), Tim Oligschlaeger, Shelly Lueckenotte (John), and Elizabeth Oligschlaeger, all of Jefferson City, Mo.; a step-son, Peter Wise of Bellingham, Mass.; siblings, Lucy Ruegsegger of Jefferson City, Mo. and Mary Bartlett (John) of Tucson, Az.; a sister-in-law, Helen Hirsch (Don) of Jefferson City, Mo.; her best friend, Fanny Heeter of Jefferson City, Mo.; seventeen grandchildren, Matt Even, Alex Even, Emily Deeken, Jennifer Crocker, Rhiannan Kirkwood, Katie Even, Anne Even, Chris Deeken, Deidre Hoelscher, Andrea Deeken, Torie Even, Bonnie Keilholz, Sarah Pruitt, Jon Even, Natalie Deeken, Lindsey Lyons and Jonathan Lueckenotte; nineteen great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard, on March 19, 1976; three brothers; and four sisters.
Visitation will be held at Freeman Mortuary from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. Sunday, June 9, 2019 with a prayer service at 3:15 p.m. Sunday in the Freeman Chapel.
Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Monday, June 10, 2019 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with the Reverend Donald Antweiler officiating. Graveside services will follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
