Gloria was born on June 24,1928 in Enon, Mo. the daughter of John C. and Mary (Rea) Kohm. She was married on August 2, 1947 in the home of Rev. Hugh Trotter, who was the Pastor of Enon Baptist Church, to Marvin E. Proctor who preceded her in death August 6, 2010.

A lifelong resident of Enon, Mo. in the Russellville area, Gloria was a 1945 graduate of Russellville High School and in 1946 she graduated from Templeman Beauty College in Kansas City, Mo.

She was employed at a beauty salon in Kansas City, Mo for a short time until being called home to Enon to help care for her father. She was a dedicated wife and homemaker who assisted her husband in running their farming operations. She was the key person responsible for the day-to-day processes of their family dairy farm. Gloria continued working well into her 70’s.

She was an active member of the Enon Baptist Church where she enjoyed playing the piano for church services and was an alto singer in the church choir. Gloria’s faith was incredibly important to her, and because of that her church family was a big part of her life.

In her spare time, you might find Gloria reading a book, playing the piano, gardening, or cooking; but her true joy in life was her family. Recently, she had enjoyed friendly conversations with a special lady’s group during their daily breakfasts. Her favorite memories include trips with or to visit her family and friends, especially gathering everyone together for her 90th birthday celebration and the many other milestone celebrations she was able to celebrate.

Survivors include: three children, Marvin Dale Proctor of Russellville, Mo., Marilyn Proctor Walker (husband Charles) of Jefferson City, Mo. and Sandra Gayle Sanders (husband Steve) of Lake St. Louis, Mo.; 15 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband of 63 years, Marvin; one granddaughter, Leah Marie Sanders on July 9, 1996; and one great-grandson, Justice Simmonds on May 22, 2018.
