Obituary for Gregg A. Grosvenor

Gregg Arthur Grosvenor, age 63, of Jefferson City, MO, went to be with the angels Sunday, December 4, 2022 in his home surrounded by his loving family after an eight year battle with Alzheimer’s.

He was born August 20, 1959 in Ames, IA to Robert “R.V.” and Janice (Trimble) Grosvenor. In 1977, Gregg graduated from Ralston High School in Omaha, NE and continued his education at the University of Omaha.

He was united in marriage to his wife and soulmate, Debra Sue “Debbie” Dorsey on May 18, 1985 in Tipton Methodist Church, Tipton, MO, by his grandfather, Fred Trimble. Twenty years later Gregg and Debra renewed their vows on the Princess Cruise by the Captain.

Gregg was employed with General Mills as a sales manager. While in this position he was able to travel all over the Midwest region. He retired after 30 years of service. Being a salesman, Gregg was outgoing and personable and truly never met a stranger.

He had a heart of gold and will be remembered fondly by those who crossed his path for his strong work ethic, caring and loving personality, his sensitive side and being a jokester. He was a fun-loving person who loved the outdoors whether it was at the lake skiing or fishing, hunting or playing horseshoes, bowling, golf or tennis, there was not a sport he didn’t like. He loved his vacation in Florida with family and all the cruises he was able to do. His pride and joy was his hot rod, a 1973 Hurst Oldsmobile Classic Cutlass. Over the years he had many dogs and they all were very special to him.

Being diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer’s at a young age, Gregg was very involved with the Alzheimer’s Association. He participated in research studies at Barnes Hospital to contribute in finding a cure for the disease. He was active in many of the Alzheimer’s walks and took a trip to the Capitol for Memory Day and was able to meet Governor Parsons.

Survivors include: his loving wife of 37 years, Debbie Grosvenor; his children, David Riggs (Jennifer) and Amanda Bax (Chris Fisher), both of Jefferson City; mother, Janice Grosvenor of Jefferson City, Mo.; five grandchildren, Preston Kuttenkuler, Haley Bax, Dalton Riggs, Dillon Riggs and Payton Fisher; brothers, Jeff Grosvenor (Denise) and Todd Grosvenor, both of Jefferson City; cousin, Trudy Bredthauer; numerous nieces and nephews; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Jimmie Dorsey, Thresa Arvin (Lloyd), Sandy May, Ronnie Dorsey (Cheryl), Kathy Riggs, Carolyn Heinen (Nick), Vanna Imler (Leon), Pam LaRue (Jamie), Trish MaGee (Brian); and his beloved dogs, Otis and Oscar.
