Obituary

Heather Shardea (Stephenson) Hees Jett, 33, of Jefferson City, passed away Wednesday, September 18, 2019 at the Missouri Baptist Medical Center in St. Louis.

She was born on May 11, 1986 in Denver, Colorado a daughter of Kenneth Stephenson and Martha Jett. Her family moved to Missouri when she was young, and she was a 2004 graduate of Jefferson City High School.

She was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church where she enjoyed singing and socializing at church events.

Heather was a dedicated mother first and foremost. She treasured her children and embraced every moment with them. She especially loved her role as “Aunt Feather”. Heather had a quick wit and ever-positive attitude and an enduring deep faith and love for her family. She loved to sing along to music and dance, and she kept her loving spirit and sense of humor to the end.

Survivors include: mother and step-father, Martha and Robert Jett of Jefferson City; father and step-mother, Kenneth and Valerie Stephenson of Eldon; children, Sara and Kurt Hees of Jefferson City; siblings, Migueal Stephenson (Susan) of Columbia, Carolanne Pruett, Ambir Pruett (Paul), Rebecca Overman (Josh Johnson) all of Jefferson City, Rachel King of Eldon, and Kenneth Stephenson Jr. of Lohman; grandmothers, Macullia Samain of Colorado and Bettie Jett of Jefferson City; nieces and nephews, Lila Pruett, Merindy and Charli Stephenson, Abigail and Nataly Pruett, Hannah, Anthony and Jake Johnson, Lily Mars, Tyler Johnson and Breanna and Tyler Overman; numerous aunts and uncles; cousins, Tabby Dean, Laura Campbell, Emilee Lester, Mark Dean Jr., and Hazel Campbell all of Denver; and Margaret Blankenship, who was like a second mother to Heather.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather and maternal great-grandparents.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, September 28, 2019 at Cornerstone Baptist Church with Pastor Brian Credille officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Heather Hees Jett Memorial Fund.

Heather will forever be in my heart. We shared more than a birthday, I was privileged to spend time watching her grow from a sweet teen to a dear and loving adult. Her generous nature and unconditional love encompassed her children and parents and her entire family. She had such an abundance of love and kindness that she reached out to share it with so many of us. She was a light that will be missed in this world but will be safe and well and loved in God's kingdom. My name is Maggie Blankenship and I was one of those privileged to know and love Heather.
