Obituary for Imogene B. Deal
Imogene Bernadine (Clad) Deal, age 81, of Mokane, Mo., passed away Saturday, July 16, 2022 at Riverview Nursing Center.
Imogene was born on April 19, 1941 in Osage County, the daughter of Bernard Jacobs and Alice Clad. She was raised by her mother and step-father, Paul Kieselbach, who she thought of as her dad.
She was married to Joseph William “J.W.” Dow who preceded her in death. Imogene later married Robert Deal who passed away October 4, 1999.
A true homemaker, Imogene cherished the opportunity to take care of her family and others. She adored children and always had the time to babysit to provide a helping hand to so many. Even though the children she babysat were not hers, she proudly earned the name “Grandma” by her adopted grandkids.
From making quilts and embroidering, to working puzzles, watching soap operas and playing Old Maid, Imogene always found ways to stay busy. In the mornings, she loved turning on Elvis Presley songs and could be heard singing his music all through her house.
Imogene is survived by: her daughter, Rose Dow of Jefferson City, Mo.; granddaughter, Jasmine Harris of Jefferson City, Mo.; and aunt, Elsie Clad of Centertown, Mo.
She was preceded in death by both her loving husbands, J.W. and Bob; daughter, Kay Hicks; and uncle, Frank Clad.
Visitation will be held at Freeman Mortuary from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Monday, July 25, 2022.
Graveside services and inurnment will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 27, 2022, at Longview Cemetery in Jefferson City, Mo.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Imogene Deal Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 95, Jefferson City, Mo. 65102.
Funeral arrangements are under the care of Freeman Mortuary.
