Obituary

Mrs. Jacklan Sue Thompson, 76, of Centertown, Mo., passed away Thursday, May 27, 2021 at her home.

She was born September 29, 1944 in Meta, Mo., a daughter of Beryle and Pauline Ann (Libbert) Imsland.

Jackie graduated from Jefferson City High School and was employed for over 29 years at Chesebrough Ponds where she worked as a Line tender in the Q-Tip department.

From a young age, Jackie loved bowling and was on many different bowling leagues throughout Jefferson City. She carried this love on to her children, and they went bowling together twice a week. Jackie found beauty in nature. She especially liked bird watching and her water garden ponds. She was the “Queen of Negotiation” at rummage sales, where she and her daughters went every Saturday, followed by a visit to Taco Bell. Jackie liked watching movies and going out to eat with her family. Jackie loved traveling and went on many vacations with her family and short trips with her son, Roger. One of her favorite places to visit was Las Vegas, where she could always be found at the casinos. Most of all, Jackie cherished her large family and she will be greatly missed by all.

Survivors include: four children, Roger A. Robinett of Centertown, Darla M. Kempker (Richard) of Centertown., Rob E. Davis (Merlene) of California, and Becky Horne (Joe) of Jefferson City; siblings, Shirley Downing (John) of Brazito, and Rick Imsland (Cathy) of Rocky Mount; 19 grandchildren, Ryan Robinett, Quinten Robinett, Donette Vaughan, Chasity Vaughan, Heather George, Jason Robinett, Caleb Vaughan-Robinett, Dustin Parkes, Derick Parkes, Jessie Kempker, Travis Kempker, Zachary Parkes-Wagner, Gentrie Davis, Rowdy Davis, Jonathan Davis, Colton Horne, Lindsey Horne, Sarah Horne, and Kamdin Horne; 11 great-grandchildren, Kane Mills, Etelka Vaughan, Alethia Vaughan, Maddox Robinett, Hudson Robinett, Payton Robinett, Elliot Robinett, Oliver Pool, Jessica George, Shelby Parkes-Wagner, and Rhett Parkes; and her feathered friend of 37 years, Poncho.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sons, Joseph D. Thompson and Randy A. Robinett; and siblings, Donna Carter, Patty Williamson, and Darrell Imsland.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Friends may mail sympathy cards to the funeral home or leave condolences online to be given to her family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to The Special Learning Center, 1115 Fairgrounds Road, Jefferson City, Missouri 65109

One memory from me of Jackie. We used to love it when Jackie would bring her big "Santa's bag" full of Cheesborough Ponds goodies. We would dig into that bag with a frenzy to look for things we wanted. It was such a big treat. She would sit back and smile. Such a nice lady. Her family will miss her.
