Obituary for Jacqulyn Allen

Ms. Jacqulyn Lee Allen, age 70, of Jefferson City, Mo., passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 20, 2022.

She was born on June 21, 1951 in Ironton, Mo., a daughter of Jack Palmer and Rebecca Johnny (Jolley) Knight. She was married on June 25, 1989 in Jefferson City, Mo. to Raymond Glenn Allen, who preceded her in death on November 24, 2018.

Jackie has been a longtime resident of the Jefferson City area, but she always considered Parker, Arizona her home. She was a 1969 graduate of Parker High School.

Jackie worked for the State of Missouri as an Accountant and Database Engineer, among other positions, from 1989 until her retirement in 2013.

Jackie was a woman of strong faith and a longtime member of Liberty Road Baptist Church. She was active in the church and served many roles including being the Music Director, Vacation Bible School Director, and the Treasurer. She valued every moment she spent teaching children through the church. When she worked for the Department of Mental Health, she even made it a point to teach bible studies during her lunch break.

She enjoyed traveling and was very proud to have taken a tour of the Western United States, a part of the world that she always held close to her heart. Some of her favorite places to visit were Southwest Missouri, Arizona, and New Mexico. Jackie cherished every moment and memory she was able to make with her family. She loved her grandchildren and beamed with pride with every accomplishment and story she was able to share about them. Jackie loved protecting them and supporting them in any way she could, especially when she was able to go to their games and other activities.

Survivors include: four children, Cassandra Leone (husband, John) of Las Vegas, Nevada, Michael Davenport, II of Holts Summit, Mo., Thomas Allen of Springfield, Mo., and John Allen of Martinsburg, Mo.; one sister, Janice Clay (husband, Tim) of Holts Summit, Mo.; 10 grandchildren, Tyler Leone, Jonathan Leone, Aaron Davenport, Michael Davenport, Matthew Davenport, Addison Allen, Alyse Allen, Bryan Allen, Morgan Allen, and Gavin Allen; and one nephew Rory Clay.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Raymond; and her parents; Jack Palmer Knight, Virgil A. Thomas Jolley, and Rebecca Johnny Jolley.

A Celebration of Life will be conducted at Liberty Road Baptist Church next Saturday, April 30, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. with the Reverend Bill Rogers officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to The Pregnancy Crisis Center.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Freeman Mortuary.
