Joan loved to go boating. We went to the Lake Of The Ozarks every year for vacation and family fun time. She was quite the water skier. Joan was in her mid 70's the last time she made it up out of the water. It was amazing!!!

Joan and Dana were in the kitchen making a strawberry rhubarb pie. Joan made the filling and I was making the crust. We put it together and got ready to put it in the oven. I said let's put a little bit of sugar on the top of the crust before it comes out of the oven. She grabbed the sack of salt and handed it to me. We looked at eachother and our hearts were crushed. We had made a salt pie filling. It was the most beautiful pie. We laughed at that everytime we were in the kitchen. We loved to be in the kitchen together. She taught me a lot.
