I choose to remember JR the way he was when Tom and I moved to Jefferson City. JR remembered my name, my teaching at St. Charles High School and starting the FBLA Club while he was at DESE, my teaching at Lindenwood College, and my working in business textbook publishing. I remember his leadership in Wesley's Yesterdays Kids and his arranging for the group to have the AARP Driver Safety Course. JR had a big impact on my life; he was definitely one of those Christian role models for many teachers and for Wesley UMC members. He will be greatly missed by me and many others. Linda

We had lots of special fun times being in classes for JR's first year of teaching. I knew his Mother when I lived in Anderson during my Junior High Years so I sort of knew him and was so pleased to have him come to Rocky. He was a really good teacher and was from an extra special family. Ves and Elsie raised him right. We were so pleased when he married the daughter of our Home Economics teacher, Ava Embrey and enjoyed that special time with them. Gloria and family, You have my deepest sympathy. I knew he had been ill and had wondering how he was doing but couldn't remember to ask any of Don's family when I saw them. You'll be in my prayers in the difficult days to come.
