Obituary for Larry "Jimmy" Lairmore

Mr. Larry Jimmy Lairmore, age 75, of Jefferson City, Mo., passed away on Friday, January 8, 2021.

He was born on November 22, 1945, in Jefferson City, a son of Joe and Elsie (Shackelford) Lairmore. Jimmy attended school in Centertown and on June 22, 1968 in New Bloomfield, Mo. he married Karen Sue Nolte.

Jimmy retired after 12 years as custodian with the Missouri Army National Guard. He was also employed with Lincoln University, and several other facilities.

He enjoyed camping, boating and fishing on the Missouri River, mowing his yard and cleaning his truck. On Saturday nights, he could be found listening to the Golden Oldies. His most enjoyable moments were making memories with his children, grandchildren, family and friends.

Survivors include: four children, Jody (Brenda) Lairmore of Lohman, Larry (Shannon) Lairmore of Lohman, Terrie (Anthony) Kraus of Boonville, and Robert (Lisa Cordry) Lairmore of Jefferson City; grandchildren, Amanda Lairmore, Sarah Lairmore, Cody (Brittannie) Broeker, Andrew (Alexys) Kraus, Kaylee Lairmore, and Robbie Lairmore; step-grandchildren, Richard (Jennifer) Snow and Mitchell (Danielle) Snow; great-grandchildren, Dustin, Abigaile, Silas, Syrena, Madilyn, Garrett, Landon, Josie, Austin, Zane, Connor, Kyla, Henlee, and Hayden; brothers, Billy (Dorothy) Lairmore of Centertown, and Jerry Lairmore of Jefferson City; brothers-in-law, Wayne Nolte of Jefferson City, and Ralph Hutinger of Holts Summit; sister-in-law, Ann Lairmore of Wardsville; and several nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by: his loving wife, Karen; his parents; brothers, Tommy Lairmore and Floyd Lairmore; sisters, Louise Cofer, Ida Mae Parrish, and Wanda Schoenthal; his father and mother-in-law; brothers-in-law, Bill Schoenthal, Freddie Parrish, and Jerome Cofer; sisters-in-law, Cybil Lairmore and Patsy Lairmore, and nephew, BJ Lairmore.

Visitation will be held from at Freeman Mortuary from 11:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. on Friday, January 15, 2021. A celebration of life service will follow at 12:30 pm in the Freeman Chapel with the Reverend Verlyn Bergen officiating. Private family graveside services will be held at a later date at Elston Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Larry Lairmore Memorial Fund.
