Obituary for Larry Masters

Larry Ray Masters, age 60 of Russellville, Mo., passed away Saturday, May 21, 2022 at his home.

He was born on May 3, 1962, the son on Robert Lee and Mary Ann (Brandt) Masters. He was married to Lana J. Bonnot, and to this union their son, Ethan Masters was born. He married Mary Rachelle Rousselot on February 19, 2011 in Linn, Mo., she survives.

A lifelong resident of the Central Missouri area, Larry graduated from Linn High School. He then enlisted in the Missouri Army National Guard and was honorably discharged after more than six years of service. Following his military service, Larry enrolled in Linn State Technical College and went on to earn his HVAC Licensing.

For many years, he was the Supervisor of Maintenance for Fatima Public Schools and most recently worked for the State of Missouri as a Senior Specialized Tradesman.

Larry was a kind-hearted jokester who enjoyed spending time on the farm, gardening and raising chickens. He also enjoyed soaking up nature and the outdoors with his son and wife while camping or taking fishing trips. Larry was an avid collector of model antique tractors and was very knowledgeable about the mechanics and history of many different types of tractors. He belonged to many online collectors’ groups and enjoyed discussions with other enthusiasts.

Survivors include: his wife, Rachelle Masters of Russellville; one son, Ethan Masters of Union, Mo.; two stepchildren, Melissa Demarest (Daniel) and Richard Hays (Millyana), both of Jefferson City, Mo.; four siblings, his twin sister, Laura Thoenen (Randy) of Chamois, Mo., Allan Masters (Judy) of Jefferson City, Mo., LeeAnn Rustemeyer (Mark) of Jefferson City, Mo., and Norma Boillot (George) of Linn, Mo.; one brother-in-law, Norbert Voss of Linn, Mo.; and seven step grandchildren with one on the way.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Lois Voss.

Visitation will be at Freeman Mortuary from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 31, 2022. Graveside services with military honors will follow at St. George Cemetery in Linn, with Monsignor David Cox officiating.

A luncheon will be held at the Notre Dame Hall at St. George Catholic Church in Linn, following the graveside service.
