Mrs. LeAnn Marie Fischer, age 87 years, of Jefferson City, Missouri passed away peacefully Sunday, January 26, 2020 surrounded by family.

LeAnn was born on January 14, 1933 in Clay Center, Kansas a daughter of William George and Erna Dorothy (Meyer) Fritz. She was married on June 6, 1955 in Jefferson City, Missouri to Robert Palmer Fischer, who preceded her in death on February 10, 2010.

She graduated from St. John’s Lutheran Academy in Winfield, Kansas and later received her teaching certification from St. John’s Lutheran College.

LeAnn moved to Jefferson City to be an elementary teacher at Trinity Lutheran School and later Faith Lutheran School for several years. She was also a substitute teacher at several Lutheran Schools in the central Missouri area. When her children were older, she worked as a receptionist for 22 years at Weight Watchers and also will be remembered for her smile and enthusiasm while working at the Schulte’s Bakery. She was a talented seamstress for the majority of her life and mentored many people in our community. Even up to her passing, she was embroidering tea towels in her free time.

She held a strong faith and was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church. LeAnn enjoyed the fellowship of numerous groups including: the Trinity Lutheran Church Circle, the Trinity Lutheran Church Auxiliary, Missionary Society, and as a room mother and den leader for all her children while they were attending school at Trinity. She also volunteered in many ways with the church and used her seamstress talents to make many of the white choir robes.

LeAnn will be remembered for being a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Most importantly, her family and faith were always the center of her life.

Survivors include: three children, Janelle Schulte (husband Jim) of New Bloomfield, Missouri, Grace Allen (husband Randy) of Jefferson City, Missouri and Christopher Fischer of Lohman, Missouri; daughter-in-law, Stacia Fischer of Jefferson City, Missouri; seven grandchildren, Matthew Allen (wife Candice), Timothy Allen, Bradley Allen (wife Rachel), Wilson Fischer, Wyatt Fischer, Kenedy Fischer, and Trenton Fischer; four great-grandchildren, Grayson, Addalyn, Harrison and Beau; and two sisters-in-law, Dorothy Fischer and Dorothy Fritz.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband of 54 years, Robert; one son, Walter Fischer on March 17, 2016; and one brother, Edmond Fritz.

Visitation will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Thursday, January 30, 2020.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, January 30, 2020 at Trinity Lutheran Church with the Reverend Samuel Powell and the Reverend Jesse Schlie officiating. Graveside services and interment will be held at Hawthorn Memorial Gardens.

LeAnn began watching our daughter, Shannon, after school when she attended Trinity Lutheran School. LeAnn did this for 2 years until Shannon left to go into JCPS. Later we enjoyed LeAnn’s smiling face and uplifting attitude at Schulte’s bakery. We missed her when she left there. We will always be thankful for her enriching our lives in these ways. We offer you, her family, our heartfelt condolences. Our prayers are with you all.
