Leslie Jean Myers, age 75, of Jefferson City, Mo., passed away on November 1, 2022 at her home.
On July 4, 1947, Leslie was born to Robert E. and Elinor E. (Whitten) Hackett in Geneva, Nebraska. She was a 1965 graduate of La Mirada High School and furthered her education at Santa Ana Junior College.
Leslie began her professional career as a legal secretary in law offices in California as well as Montana. She later worked with the state of Nebraska and upon relocating to Missouri, she accepted a position as an Administrative Assistant with the Missouri Public Service Commission where she finished her career following 13 years of service. She had a giving heart, dedicating time and resources to various organizations. She was a member of the Red Cross for over 20 years and worked on the disaster relief work force.
She lived a life of adventure. Long rides across the country, traveling, enjoying beach vacations, water skiing, and maintaining her health through yoga. She was a “do it yourself” kind of woman and bravely tackled many home renovation projects. She called a number cities “Home” through the years but she loved none more than Eureka, Montana. Leslie valued her family above all else and loved spending time with her grandchildren who kept her feeling young.
Survivors include her children, Troy Bonnett (Leanne) of Wardsville, Mo., and Tony Bonnett of New Bloomfield, Mo.; two siblings, Pamela Ledford of Linn Creek, Mo., and Boyd Jones (Cheryle) of Yankton, SD; and five grandchildren, Mykaela, Jade, Corban, Wyatt, and Zachariah.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Linda O’Farrel.
A visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 26, 2022 at Freeman Mortuary.
