Obituary for Linda M. Coots

Linda Mae Coots, age 71, of Jefferson City, Mo., passed away Thursday, December 29, 2022 at home surrounded by her loving family.

Linda was born February 27, 1951 in Cedar City, Mo., the daughter of Walter and Madeline (Nichols) Bloomer. She was married in 1967 to C.W. Coots and she was blessed with her son Stacy from this marriage.

A lifelong resident of the central Missouri area, Linda attended school in Cedar City and with the Jefferson City Public Schools.

She was employed with the State of Missouri with the Department of Revenue for over 20 years until her retirement. Before her work with the State of Missouri, Linda had an in-home day care for her children and other little ones.

She looked forward to time outside soaking up the sun and was truly blessed with a green thumb. She could always be found planting flowers in her garden and nurturing them every season.

She cherished time with her kids, grandkids, sisters and brothers and welcomed family over to the house to play cards and board games. Linda was an avid sports fan and passionately cheered for her grandchildren at all their ball games. She loved to watch tennis matches and different fights, even hosting many fight nights with her family. She also enjoyed attending Solid Rock Church with her family members.

Survivors include: two children, Stacy Coots and Clayton Coots (Nicki), both of Jefferson City, Mo.; sister, Connie Hayden (Stan) of Jefferson City, Mo.; brother, Warren Bloomer of Holts Summit, Mo.; sister-in-law, Lynda Nichols of Jefferson City, Mo.; eight grandchildren, Bobby Poe (Shelly), Brandi Nichols, Brittany Nichols, Curtis Coots (Michelle), Chris Coots, Cara Thomas (Josh), Chloe Coots and Laklyn Coots; 14 great-grandchildren, Cadence, Sadie, Kenzlie, Charlee, Gabriel, Isla, Ayden James, Aubree Riane, Carson, Hailey, Brailyn, Traidyn, Charlotte and Colins; and numerous nieces and nephews.
