Obituary for Linda S. Strange

Linda Sue Strange, age 73, of Jefferson City, Missouri, passed away Sunday, February 5, 2023, at her home.

Linda was born on April 5, 1949, in Jefferson City, Missouri, the daughter of Charles Otto and Lorna Maxine (Maize) Tripp. She was married on June 8, 1968, in Jefferson City to Robert Michael Strange, who passed away on March 2, 2010.

A lifelong resident of the central Missouri area, Linda was a 1967 graduate of Jefferson City High School.

After graduating high school, Linda began her professional career with the State of Missouri that spanned 35 years until her retirement in July 2003. For the majority of that time, she was employed as the administrative assistant for the Labor Commission through the Missouri Department of Labor. During her retirement, Linda had been serving as a home health caregiver with “Bee At Home” and loved the relationships she made with the people she cared for.

She enjoyed attending blues festivals across the country with friends and the weekly Bingo game around town. With a Diet Coke in hand, she loved playing dominoes and Yahtzee with her friends and family.

Most of Linda’s time was spent with her family. She loved supporting them in all their activities. From attending her husband’s shows while he played in the band Shades of Blue, to being at all her children and grandchildren’s activities. She never wanted to miss an opportunity to show her support and love. She looked forward to spending summers and Christmas in Branson with them or taking her grandchildren on short trips around Missouri to get quality time with them.

She will be remembered for her caring, kind and selfless personality. She found joy in making sure that everyone else was taken care of before helping herself. Linda truly had a servant’s heart that showed through her relationships with work, friends and family.

She is survived by: two sons, Chris Strange (Lainie) of Wardsville, Mo. and Derrick Strange (Jenn Sanders) of Jefferson City, Mo.; sister, Patty Ott (Palmer) of Lohman, Mo.; three grandchildren, Trevor Strange (Sarah), Lauren Strange and Breanna Strange; and great-grandson, Liam Strange, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her loving husband of 41 years, Bob.
