Mary Jo possessed a great work ethic and worked hard to support her children. She was employed with various companies in Jefferson City and especially enjoyed her work as a waitress, the bakery at Gerbes and the Checker Cab Company. Mary Jo had a caring heart always supported the A.S.P.C.A., the American Red Cross, many Veterans Associations and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Mary Jo silently touched many lives with her nurturing personality. She also had a wonderful sense of humor and would go up to a complete stranger and tell them a joke to brighten their day. It may have been the grocery store, the bank or a gas station. Her favorite jokes were usually inappropriate but always brought a smile. Mary Jo also enjoyed knitting, crocheting, reading and cross stitching. She will always be known for her big heart, giving nature and approachable demeanor.
