Obituary for Matt Hagood

Matthew William Hagood, age 46, of Jefferson City, Mo., passed away peacefully Wednesday, September 7, 2022.

Matt was born October 16, 1975 in Jefferson City, Mo., a son of William and Carole (Pohl) Hagood.

A lifelong resident of the mid-Missouri area, Matt graduated from Jefferson City High School in 1994. He was an exceptional athlete and enjoyed playing sports, especially football and basketball and won an award for his ability in the shot-put event.

He was known as a great salesman, working for Vince Kolb Automotive Group for many years and most recently Ashley Furniture. He was a valued employee and strived to be the best in sales. Matt loved cars and at one time had his own car detailing business.

Growing up, Matt was always outside riding bikes, climbing trees and making the neighborhood’s best treehouses. His love for the outdoors continued into adulthood and oftentimes could be found at the Lake of the Ozarks enjoying water sports. Matt also enjoyed traveling to Canada and Colorado with friends and family.

The most important person in his world was his daughter, Addison. He loved making memories with her. Matt had a strong presence and a contagious laugh. He will be remembered for his charismatic personality, witty charm and for being the ultimate prankster.
