Obituary for Michael Alvey
Michael Alvey, 68, of Jefferson City, Mo. passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 12, 2022, at Harbor Place.
He was born on December 29, 1953 in Moberly, Mo. to Billy “Pat” Patrick and Rozella “Billie” May (Beacom) Alvey. He graduated from Moberly High School in 1972 and went on to further his education at Missouri State University.
Mike was employed as a Fraud Investigator with the State of Missouri until his retirement in 2012. Prior to his work as an investigator with the state he worked for the Callaway County Sheriff’s Department and the New Bloomfield Police Department.
Mike was creative and artistic and in his spare time, he liked to do ceramics. He enjoyed ocean scuba diving and spent many years diving anywhere he could. He also had a love for the outdoors where he could hunt, shoot, fish, and even fly. His son holds fond memories of attending Cardinal’s baseball games together and all who new Mike, will remember times spent laughing and storytelling.
Survivors include: his son, Dalton Tyler Alvey of Jefferson City, Mo.; and one cousin, Cath Alvey of Washougal, Wa.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A celebration of Mike’s life will be held at a later date.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Freeman Mortuary.
