Obituary for Pamela Moyer

Pamela S. Moyer, age 74, of Jefferson City, Mo., passed away Tuesday, August 30, 2022, at her home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on July 15, 1948, in Jefferson City, the daughter of Raymond Paul and Lillie Pearl (Bassnet) Roark. She was married on July 15, 1977, in Jefferson City to William “Craig” Moyer who survives at the home.

Pam was a 1966 graduate of Jefferson City High School. She worked for IBM as the senior secretary for 25 years prior to her retirement in 2004. During her retirement, Pam kept busy caring for her grandchildren. Once they were school age, she worked part time at the Cole County Sheriff’s office as an administrative clerk for five years.

Pam and Craig were members of the Meadow Lake Country Club where they frequently dined and visited with friends and family. They also enjoyed going to Johnny’s Pizza and Steakhouse among other places to have dinner with groups of friends and family.

Pam loved shopping, watching the St. Louis Cardinals play baseball, playing on slot machines, and having a nice glass of wine or a margarita from the local Mexican restaurants. She was the family photographer, always capturing moments with her camera when they were together. She relished the monthly gatherings with her classmates. Pam’s greatest joy in life was spending time with her family, especially her grandkids. Pam cherished the time she spent watching them play sports or just having everyone around the pool. Pam was a quiet, kind, and thoughtful person who will be missed by all who knew her.

Pam is survived by: her loving husband of 45 years, Craig; children, Scott (Beth) Skinner, Shelly (Brian) Drake, and Paul (Jessica) Moyer, all of Jefferson City, Mo.; siblings, Donald (Chris) Roark, Richard (Wanda) Roark, Keith (Janet) Roark, all of Jefferson City; sister-in-law, Barbara (Ron) Barrett of Columbia; nine grandchildren, Brett (Shelby), Michael, Colin, Luke, Justin (Liz), Steven, Olivia, Hudson, and Jackson.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Lillie Roark.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 3, 2022, at First Assembly of God.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 3, 2022, at First Assembly of God with the Reverend Lowell Perkins officiating. Interment will be conducted at Hawthorn Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Goldschmidt Nutritional Program or Hospice Compassus.
