Patricia Lee Strader, 70, of Jefferson City, Mo., passed away Saturday, July 4, 2020 at her home surrounded by family.

Pat was born on September 21, 1949 in Jefferson City, Mo. the daughter of Luther and Barcie (McCulloch) Brickey. She was married on November 22, 1969 in Jefferson City, Mo. to Dennis Strader.

A lifelong resident of the Jefferson City area, she was a 1967 graduate of Jefferson City High School.

Pat was employed as a lobbyist for 35 years at the Missouri State Capitol. She began by lobbying for Ameren UE and AT&T but eventually began her own lobbying group, Strader and Associates, that she operated for the majority of her professional career. Pat loved that her career as a lobbyist allowed her to meet so many interesting people and foster lifelong friends. She enjoyed time at the Capitol until ill health forced her retirement in January, 2018.

Pat was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and cherished the relationships she made through this sorority.

She lived for time with family and loved them unconditionally. Pat was always sharing memories of her boys when they were younger and time together at the Lake with family and friends. She enjoyed time with Dennis on their Alaskan Cruise, visiting her son, Shawn, in Colorado and looked forward to shopping trips with her girlfriends. Her caring side showed with her passion for animals, especially her beagle Oscar.

Survivors include: her loving husband of 50 years, Dennis Strader; one son, Shawn Strader of Edwards, Co.; brother, Larry Brickey (wife Arleta) of Jefferson City, Mo.; sister-in-law, Janet Rumsey (husband Kenneth) of Severna Park, Md.; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Michael Strader on July 22, 2016; and one brother, Robert “Bobby” Brickey.

Visitation will be held at Freeman Mortuary from 10:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 8, 2020. The family would like to encourage friends and family to wear personal masks while visiting.

A Celebration of Life for Pat will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 8, 2020 in the Freeman Chapel with a tribute from the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority to start the service. Private graveside services and entombment will be held at the Mausoleum of Riverview Cemetery.

A webcast of the service will begin at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday for friends who are unable to attend by going to her memorial page on Freeman Mortuary’s website.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Hope Lodge, 4215 Lindell Blvd, St. Louis, Mo. 63108.

Funeral arrangements are under the care of Freeman Mortuary.

(Should be Revelation 21:4 ^ ) I also wanted to share a note about Pat. She was such a kind soul, so very positive despite her burdens. With quiet tenacity, she built a successful business and fought her battles gallantly. For Denny and all of her beautiful Beta Sigma Phi friends, I send hugs and love from Florida.
