Obituary

Mr. Richard R.C. “Thumper” Miller, 76, of Jefferson City, Mo., passed away on Saturday, May 22, 2021 at his home.

R.C. was born on June 30, 1944 in Kona, Hi., the son of David V. and Leocadia L. (Campos) Miller. He was married on July 9, 1982 in Jefferson City, to Deborah S. “Debbie” Davis.

For 25 years, R.C. worked for the State of Missouri by day and ran his own cleaning business by night. He worked with friends of Bill W. for 33 years where he mentored and helped people through different times in their lives. For the past few years, R.C. was a middle school substitute teacher where he was loved and referred to as “Mr. Miyagi”.

R.C. enjoyed gardening and had mastered this talent from his father. Everyone loved his beautiful flower gardens. R.C. collected landscaping rocks with his sons from various adventures they took together. He had a passion for Civil War history and also became very invested in his family’s genealogy.

Survivors include: his loving wife, Debbie; four sons, David Miller (JoAnna) of Rogersville, Al., Nick Miller (Renee) of Whiteville, Tn., Marc Miller (Kathleen) of Jefferson City, and Andrew Miller of Jefferson City; two brothers, David C. Miller (Sue) of Boonville, and Rafael Miller (Debbie) of Poplar Bluff; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Private family services will be held.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Hospice Compassus.
