Obituary for Regina Lorenz

Ms. Ethel R. “Regina” Lorenz, age 77, of Jefferson City, Mo., passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 15, 2022 at her home.

Regina was born on September 2, 1944 in Sikeston, Mo. the daughter of Charles Addison and Virginia Helen (Green) Chapman. She married Jerry E. Turley in 1966, and to this union, their daughter was born. Regina married the love of her life, Robert Wayne Lorenz on April 22, 2001 in Jefferson City.

A lifelong resident of the Central Missouri area, Regina was a 1962 graduate of Morehouse High School. After graduation, she took college level courses at Southeast Missouri State University.

Regina worked for the Department of Social Services for 28 years. Her dreams of becoming a chef became reality when she became the owner and chef of White Stone Inn Restaurant for 22 years until her retirement in 2020.

Regina loved being able to create dishes, cook them, and provide the meals to her family and friends to enjoy. One of her favorite days to host everyone was the Saturday after Thanksgiving. Regina enjoyed listening and dancing to all different types of music. She enjoyed adventure and every year she traveled to Indian Rocks Beach, Fl., where she spent months at a time. Regina and Robert made many memories together traveling around the United States in their RV.

Most of all, Regina cherished the time spent and memories made with her family. She will be remembered for her spontaneous singing and dancing parties, her larger than life heart, and her warm and welcoming smile. Regina will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include: her loving husband, Robert of Jefferson City, Mo.; daughter, Tracy Lehmen of Jefferson City, Mo.; step-daughter, Pat McGinnis (husband, Rusty) of Concordia, Mo.; brother, Dr. Larry Chapman (wife, Paula) of Columbia, Mo.; six grandchildren, Tracy Sill, Kelly Schmidt, Josh Krahenbuhl, Corey McGinnis, Taya McGinnis, and Kearston McGinnis; four great-grandchildren, Noah Sill, Allison Krahenbuhl, Logan Krahenbuhl, and Kaylor Schrieman; three nieces, Jeanine Bequette (husband, Dave) of St. Louis, Mo., Michelle Kueck (husband, Greg) of Topeka, Ks., and Renee Barton of Cave Creek, Az.; two nephews, Zach Chapman (husband, Liam) of Fresno, Ca., and Kent Chapman of Ardmore, Tn.; four great nieces, Caroline, Sara, Rachel, and Calli; and three great nephews, Mitchell, Ryan, and Gage..

Ethel was preceded in death by her parents; and her grandmother, Ethel Strayer.

Visitation will be held at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Schubbert, Mo. from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 19, 2022. A Celebration of Life will follow at 11:00 a.m. with the Reverend Gerald Scheperle officiating.

Graveside services and interment will be conducted at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery immediately following the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Internet Broadband Fund at St. John’s Lutheran Church and the World Central Kitchen.
