Reva Gwendolyn Holliday, age 84 years, of Independence, Mo., passed away Friday, May 7, 2021 at Centerpoint Medical Center in Independence, Mo.

She was born on July 1, 1936 in Jefferson City, Mo., the daughter of Aubrey and Miranda (Norfleet) Scott. She was married on November 30, 1956 in Jefferson City, Mo. to Robert E. Holliday who preceded her in death.

A lifelong resident of the Central Missouri area, Reva graduated from Eugene High School.

She was employed with the State of Missouri working for the bureau of the blind.

Reva was a member of Connection Point Church in Raytown Mo. where she volunteered with their food pantry.

Reva was a meek, mild and gentle soul. She cherished time with her family and made them her first priority. She will be remembered for her giving heart and was dedicated to helping others. She was always there to lend a smile, her time, a friendly conversation, or just make family and friends feel special. Reva kept her mind sharp by reading books and had a very good sense of humor.

Reva will be remembered for her caring and creative nature, a strong faith in the Lord and love of her friends and family.

Survivors include: one son, John Holliday of Independence, Mo.; one daughter, Melody LePage (Ronald) of Jefferson City, Mo.; three sisters, Rosalee Popp of Eldon, Mo., Rayma Hoskins of Brownsville, Tx. and Phyllis Phillips of Shawnee, Ks.; three grandchildren, Joshua Frick, Zachary Miller and Lucas Schroer; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert Holliday; two sisters, Wilma and Annalee; and her beloved dog, Mocha.

Graveside services will be conducted at Hickory Hill Baptist Church Cemetery at 12:00 PM Saturday, May 22, 2021 with the Reverend Allan Golden officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, Billy Graham Evangelistic Association or the 700 Club.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Freeman Mortuary.
