Obituary for Rhonda R. Leeper

Ms. Rhonda R. Leeper, age 54 years, of Jefferson City, Mo., passed away Thursday, June 13, 2019 at Capital Region Medical Center surrounded by her family.

Rhonda was born March 31, 1965 in Fulton, Mo. the daughter of Gary D. and Loreta J. “Reta” Day Leeper.

A lifelong resident of the Jefferson City area, Rhonda was a 1983 graduate of Jefferson City High School and a 1993 graduate of Metro Business College.

She was employed as the office manager of the outpatient surgery center at Jefferson City Medical Group for over fifteen years until her retirement in 2010. Previously, she was employed with Dr. Lentz’s Office and worked with the State of Missouri.

Rhonda was an extremely creative person and channeled that energy into crafts, scrapbooking and making necklaces and other types of jewelry with her mother. She found peace in being outdoors and walking through the woods geode and mushroom hunting. Rhonda had a soft spot in her heart for animals. Her dogs were like family and she had a gift for connecting with and riding horses. She also enjoyed watching old western shows and listening to music.

Most importantly, Rhonda cherished time with her family. Her loving personality and large smile could light up a room. Her favorite role in life was being a mother and grandmother.

Survivors include: her children, Whitney L. Jones of Jefferson City, Mo. and Brett M. Jones (wife Rebecca) of Eldon, Mo.; her step father, Phil Raithel of Jefferson City, Mo; one step-brother, Joe Raithel of Holts Summit, Mo.; one step-aunt, Harriett Lepper of Jefferson City, Mo.; her life partner, Mark Bollinger of Jefferson City, Mo.; three grandchildren, Gavin Ray Tucker, Gage Michael McDonald and Emma Nikole Jones; two grandchildren by Brett's marriage, Briley Kathryn Dial and Cason Allen Dial; her beloved dogs, Lucy and Spencer; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and beloved friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Gary D. Leeper on November 1, 2015, and her mother, Loreta “Reta” Raithel on November 30, 2017.

Visitation will be at Freeman Mortuary from 12:00 noon until 1:30 p.m. Thursday, June 20, 2019.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, June 20, 2019 in the Freeman Chapel with celebrant Gara Loskill officiating. Graveside services and interment will be at Mt. Carmel Cemetery near Fulton, Mo.
