Obituary for Ronald Jerome "Ron" Kappel

Ronald Jerome “Ron” Kappel, age 54 years, of Jefferson City, Mo., formerly of the Greenfield, Wisconsin area, passed away Saturday, May 2, 2020.

He was born on February 23, 1966 in Milwaukee, WI, the son of James George and Judith Ellen (Kolczynski) Kappel. He was married to Cindy Kappel, and to this union his two children were born.

A lifelong resident of the Greenfield area, Ron graduated from Greenfield High School and later went on to attend MATC where he earned various automotive certificates.

Ron was employed as a mechanic with various companies through the years, most notably, Car-X and Mitas.

He was a talented handy man. Whether it was a car, household item or a wood working project, Ron could fix anything. He had an impressive collection of tools and always had a project to work on. Ron had a deep appreciation for cars and especially cherished his red Camaro and attended various car shows. He enjoyed sports, especially the Chicago Bears, Wisconsin Badgers and NASCAR. Ron also loved music, 80’s rock in particular, and even attended a few concerts including Metallica in his youth. He was always tinkering or working and liked to be busy. Ron kept to himself but was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it. He was an outdoorsman and loved to go fishing with his children when they were growing up. Above all, Ron consistently expressed his pride in his children’s accomplishments and was always supportive of their life decisions.

Survivors include: two children, Kyle Kappel of Mukwonago, WI and Kortney Kappel of Greenfield, WI; one brother, Donald “Don” Kappel of Nashville, TN; and his significant other, Sue Imming of Jefferson City, MO.

He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Ron Kappel Memorial Fund.
