When Ruth was a very young child, her family moved to the United States; entering the Country via Ellis Island, New York in 1925. She grew up American, however, within a very traditional German home. From that time on, Ruth’s family lived in Jefferson City, where she graduated from Jefferson City High School in 1943.

Ruth was a lifelong Homemaker. She loved her family and dedicated her life to them. Her relationships with her husband, children and grandchildren were unbreakable. Ruth was an exceptional wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a kind and caring person who will be greatly missed.

Ruth enjoyed the outdoors and gardening and was never one who enjoyed sitting still. She was an avid fan of the Jefferson City Jays Football Team and the University of Missouri Columbia Men’s Basketball Team. She could often be found cooking, visiting her neighbors or holding basement sales. She enjoyed taking trips with her husband, and cherished the time she spent at home.

Ruth was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Alumni Association.

Ruth was preceded in death by her husband of over 60 years, Kenneth; sisters, Annaliese Durham and Luise Miyahara; brother, Karl Kase, Jr.; and grandson, Doug Boucher.

May God pour out his blessings and comfort on the Payne and Kase's family. I always enjoyed visiting Aunt Ruth and Uncle Kenny in their homes in Jefferson City. My heartfelt sympathies are extended to Paula, Karla, and Janet.

God bless,

Teresa Kase

Growing up on Jobe Dr I remember Ruth and Kenny well, as well as knowing all three of the girls: Paula, Karla and Janet. Spent many fun hours at their house watching TV, roller skating in the basement or running around in the backyard. After I married and left Jobe Dr I still had a chance to see Ruth and also Kenny when I visited my parents and then when they passed my brother who still lives on the street, even got to go to a few of Ruth's garage sales. She would bring me up to date on her girls. Ruth and Kenny were two of the most outgoing people I have ever known. They made our street a fun place to grow up on.
