Obituary for Sandra Kaver (Carrender)

Sandra G. Kaver, age 75 years of Jefferson City, Mo., died Friday, May 24, 2019 at the Capital Region Medical Center.

She was born July 23, 1943 in Jefferson City, Mo. a daughter of Charles Wesley and Katherine Elizabeth (Wagner) Carrender. On September 28, 1962, Sandra was united in marriage to James D. “J.D.” Kaver who preceded her in death on August 1, 2016.

A lifelong resident of the Jefferson City area, Sandra graduated from Jefferson City High School.

Sandra had been employed with McGraw-Edison, and later she operated an in home day care center until her retirement.

She was a member of Memorial Baptist Church and was also active and served as chair of the Central Missouri Foster Care and Adoption Association.

She and J.D. enjoyed traveling, especially to Gulf Shores, Alabama and Las Vegas, Nevada. Her family and friends will miss her laughter, sarcasm and uncanny sense of humor.

Survivors include: two children, Michael W. Kaver and his wife Artina and Tiffany G. Kaver, both of Jefferson City, Mo.; two grandchildren, Mallory A. Renick and Michael A. Kaver; one great-grandson, Kade Renick; one sister, Sharon Taylor of Jefferson City, Mo.; one brother, Terry Carrender and his wife Ronda of Jefferson City, Mo.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Sandra was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 54 years, J.D. Kaver and her son, Charles “Chuck” Kaver.

Visitation will be held at Freeman Mortuary from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. Thursday, May 30, 2019 with a Celebration of Life Service following at 6:00 p.m. in the Freeman Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Central Missouri Foster Care and Adoption Association, the Missouri Lions Eye Research Foundation, or the Central Missouri Kidney Association.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Freeman Mortuary.
