Obituary for Shayne Alber
Mr. Shayne Stephan Alber, 42, of Jefferson City, Mo., passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 3, 2022 at Capital Region Medical Center.
Shayne was born on March 30, 1979 in Jefferson City, to Kent and Denise (Hedglin) Alber.
A graduate of Jefferson City High School, Shayne was employed with Creative Building and Design in Columbia for 15 years and also with JCI for 10 years. Currently, he worked as a Preloader for UPS since 2019.
Shayne enjoyed trout fishing in Bennett Springs and other Missouri parks. He spent every February fishing in the icy waters and enjoying the day. He loved his children and grandchildren dearly, and cherished his time with them. Shayne was a sports fan and rarely missed watching a St. Louis Cardinal game or a Mizzou football game.
Survivors include: his mother and step-father, Denise and Harry Spaunhorst of Jefferson City, his children, Brent Alber (Krista) of California, and McKala Alber of California; sister, Amanda Brown (Larry) of Fulton; step-siblings, Christi Spaunhorst of St. Charles, and Joe Spaunhorst (Brin) of Jefferson City; two grandchildren, Bentley and Braxtyn Alber, with another grandchild due in September; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Kent Alber; grandparents, Leon and Leona Alber, Anna Jeanette and Max Hedglin; and great-grandparents.
Private family services will be held.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Freeman Mortuary.
