Obituary for Solstice Jensen

Solstice Adara Jensen, 22, of Jefferson City, Missouri passed away Wednesday, February 3, 2021 at University Hospital in Columbia, Missouri following a life-long fight with mental illness.

A singer-songwriter, she utilized music as a message of hope to others facing similar struggles. Her vulnerability in her song-writing and the sweetness of her soul was a gift to many. She sang to quiet her own demons, to provide comfort to those in need, and to bring her darkness into the light with the intention to remove the stigma of mental illness.

Solstice was a competitive ski racer in Vail, Colorado before moving to Russellville Missouri in 2014. Her favorite space was on stage, especially at Open Mic Nights hosted by the Mission. She loved animals, especially her Pitbull “Samoah” and her pet rats “Pancake and Syrup”. She lived life intensely, and was loved and adored by her family and community.

Due to the pandemic, Solstice’s memorial will be held open house style from 1:00 until 4:00pm Sunday, February 7, 2021 at La Chica Loca, 306 E. High St., Jefferson City Missouri. Visit anytime between 1 pm and 4 pm to celebrate the life of this sweet young and sensitive soul. Refreshments will be provided.

Expressions of sympathy may be made to NAMI Missouri (National Alliance on Mental Illness)
