Mr. Steven Allen Seifert, age 65, of New Bloomfield, Mo., passed away Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at Capital Region Medical Center surrounded by his family.

Steve was born October 2, 1955 in Jefferson City, Mo., the son of Robert D. Seifert and Frances A. (Vaughan) Seifert Smith. He was married on October 28, 1994 in Jefferson City, Mo. to Cerise Paterson who survives at the home.

A lifelong resident of the central Missouri area, Steve was a 1973 graduate of Jefferson City High School.

Steve was employed as a sheet metal worker with the Sheet Metal Workers Local Union No. 36 in Fulton, Mo. He worked many projects all over central Missouri until he retired from over 30 years with the union.

Steve had a love for the outdoors and spent much of his time on the water going fishing at the Lake of the Ozarks and Truman Lake with his son and friends. He was a proud member of the Capital Crappie Club, where he fished many of their tournaments. He could also be found golfing at many of the local courses. During his retirement he helped at Railwood Golf Course so he could be around a golf course daily.

When he wasn’t fishing or golfing, he was serving up some of his amazing BBQ. He was a talented grill-master and everyone loved his food. Some favorite memories were the gatherings at his house, where the best fish fry’s and barbeques were enjoyed by family and friends. Steve also enjoyed music, especially Classic Rock. During his free time, he watched the St. Louis Cardinals, NASCAR Racing, and openly shared his opinions with family and friends.

Survivors include: his loving wife of 26 years, Cerise; five children, Jake Seifert (Rebecca) of Brazito, Mo., Abbi Haslag (Josh) of Green Ridge, Mo., Tracee Davis (Greg Geritz) of Brazito, Mo., Daniel George (Kelly) of Centertown, Mo., and Randall George of Jefferson City, Mo; three sisters, Janet Blunt (Jeff) of St. Louis, Mo., Leigh Beasley (Bill) of Jefferson City, Mo., and Lisa Bynum of Ballground, Ga.; brothers and sisters-in-law, Scott Paterson (Jackie), Rhonda Lerma, Dana Dennis (Dale), Cindy Major (Don), Kelly Talken (Gary), Shelly Paterson, Chris Paterson (Shara) and Pat Paterson (LeeAnn); seven grandchildren, Rachel Peneston, Sydney Davis, Brooke George (Brett Welschmeyer), Jill George, Kristine George (Brentney), Perri Kate Haslag, and Cody Hicks; two great-grandchildren, Bayne Schnieders and Jaelynn George; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Stacee Hicks; and one brother-in-law, Bruce Bynum.

A private memorial service will be held at a later time.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the charity of the donor’s choice.

Funeral arrangements are under the care of Freeman Mortuary.
