Steve had a love for the outdoors and spent much of his time on the water going fishing at the Lake of the Ozarks and Truman Lake with his son and friends. He was a proud member of the Capital Crappie Club, where he fished many of their tournaments. He could also be found golfing at many of the local courses. During his retirement he helped at Railwood Golf Course so he could be around a golf course daily.

When he wasn’t fishing or golfing, he was serving up some of his amazing BBQ. He was a talented grill-master and everyone loved his food. Some favorite memories were the gatherings at his house, where the best fish fry’s and barbeques were enjoyed by family and friends. Steve also enjoyed music, especially Classic Rock.
